PHN and 13 sponsors in seven states help pay for Passive House training. State, city, and utility programs pay from part of the course fee to all of it, and PHN takes money off its CPHD course for students, educators, veterans, nonprofit and public employees, and others, and for firms that enroll several people. This page sets out each one, and what has recently closed or is changing.

PHN discounts
Each student can use one PHN discount. To claim one, email training@passivehousenetwork.org. The discounts don’t apply to in-house training, and some are seasonal or limited in number.

PHN Passive House Education Fellowship: for BIPOC architects and engineers, or recent college graduates, committed to sustainable building. Fellows get 50% off the CPHD course, including the exam and a year of PHN membership, and PHN mentors them and connects them across the industry. Once approved, you’re emailed an invitation: accept it within 10 days by registering for your course, or the place may go to the next applicant. Apply with the Fellowship application.
Group enrollment: firms enrolling two or more people in CPHD training save 10% for two, 15% for three, 20% for four, and 25% for five or more. Enroll everyone at the same time; discounts apply at enrollment and aren’t retroactive. Email training@passivehousenetwork.org.
Recently closed, or changing
NYSERDA’s Building Better Homes paid up to $2,000 a person, to $30,000 a company, for training that included the CPHT and PHI designer courses; it closed in 2025. 3C-REN’s CPHD/C scholarships run through registration for its fall 2026 cohort. The Colorado Green Building Guild’s next deadline is November 1, 2026.
