Overview
Specialized Passive House courses provide critical training needed to become a proficient in professional Passive House design and project execution. Learning how to utilize the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) make the building energy balance a partner in design iterations and final solutions – providing the predictability needed to optimize performance and savings. Thermal bridge calculations is another essential differentiator from typical construction and driver of comfort, durability and predictability. Retrofits are perhaps the biggest challenge and the most in need of our work.
The course is titled Using PHPP in Passive House Design and Certification. You will learn how to use the PHPP energy model for residential building design and certification. The course was developed for PHN by Peel Passive House Consulting Ltd.

This course provides participants with an introduction to thermal-bridge simulation and analysis using the free LBNL THERM software. A variety of example cases will be used. Start with a very simple wall and progress into more complex details.
