a definition that describes a building for which thermal comfort as per ISO 7730 can be achieved solely by post-heating or post-cooling of the fresh air mass that is required to achieve sufficient indoor air quality conditions without the need for additional recirculation of air see: https://passipedia.org/basics/the_passive_house_-_definition and https://youtu.be/fy9nnso306o
the underlying building design and construction approach that supports achieving the Passive House Standard and the passive house concept as defined by the Passive House Institute, and starts with reducing cooling, dehumidification and heating loads by focusing on fully integrated suitable durable passive building components, such as proper continuous thermal-bridge-free insulation, continuous airtightness, high-performance windows and doors, and ventilation that includes a high-efficiency heat/energy recovery core, carefully calculated, and all integrated with the entire architectural process of design and construction see: https://youtu.be/fy9nnso306o
