NAPHN has appointed its first Ambassador to help spread the word about the Passive House concepts, the benefits of Passive House Institute certification and NAPHN membership. Mike Woolsey, CPHD, brings 30 years of ventilation industry experience and is routinely involved with Passive House intended projects throughout North America. By appointing Ambassadors, NAPHN intends to have experienced representatives to help increase awareness, educate building professionals, policy makers and the general public, plus provide support to build a strong Passive House community.

Mike first became interested in building energy use while still in elementary school, during the aftermath of the 1973 oil embargo. A decade later, Mike studied mechanical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, focusing on heat transfer, fluid mechanics and HVAC design, and graduated with a BSME in 1986. He has since worked for several manufacturers of ventilation equipment, specializing in applications, market management and business development. In his current role as Business Development Manager for Swegon, Mike presents seminars across North America and assists customers in proper application of products to achieve energy-savings and comfort goals. Thus far in his new role he has been instrumental in identifying key professionals in the engineering field who are new to Passive House but open to seeing where it can take them.

We are very excited to have Mike on board and hope you too can help us welcome him to the NAPHN community. As a non-profit we rely on the support of those like Mike, who voluntarily spread the Passive House love. If you would like to get involved with NAPHN, let us know and email [email protected], we look forward to hearing from you!
