The GlobalABC event “Towards a zero-emission, efficient, and resilient sustainable buildings and construction sectors: local government action from around the world” is now part of the Sustainable Building Codes Day. Guests are invited to participate in both events. Check the agenda for more details.

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING CODES DAY
Between 12 and 14 of September, the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco will bring together leaders and experts from around the world to celebrate achievements in the climate agenda and set more ambitious climate mitigation goals for the future. The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) and the Global Building Performance Network (GBPN) are taking this opportunity to gather stakeholders in sustainable buildings and construction to meet and learn about how local governments are driving zero-emission, efficient and resilient building and construction sectors.

This event provides a platform for exchanging best practices in building code legislation and accessing and using online knowledge and evidence to inform policymaking. By offering local governments the opportunity to showcase their work, it promotes raising ambition levels for a zero-emission, efficient, and resilient buildings and construction sector. Highlighting the essential role of building codes for transformative change, the event also provides participants with the opportunity to learn from one another how to overcome challenges towards a sustainable buildings and construction sector. Such knowledge sharing can be a powerful tool for cities around the world to build momentum advancing sustainable buildings and construction.

This Sustainable Building Code Day will see two linked events, both focused cities’ best practices in building and construction policies and especially building codes.
