Looking for a Passive House consultant? A builder? A building certifier? Below is a list of Passive House professionals active in the US market who provide Passive House services working with PHI certification standards.

What this list tells you.

  • We list Passive House professionals active in the US market who provide Passive House services working with PHI certification standards.
  • We indicate whether they have received a formal accreditation from PHI as a Certified Passive House Designer, Consultant, or Tradesperson (CPHD/C/T) at some point in their professional history.*
  • We identify active PHI Building Certifiers.
  • We indicate whether they consult only on their own “in-house” projects or also on “outside” projects.
  • We indicate general availability: whether they work internationally, nationally, or regionally.
  • We highlight active PHN Members.

* A note on CPHD/C/T status: We encourage all practitioners to maintain their PHI accreditation and keep it current. The credential is valuable for the continuing education it requires and the clear badge of accomplishment it provides. However, in practice, there is no professional requirement to be current, as one can earn the credential by completing a Certified Passive House building, and, further, a building energy consultant is not a profession in a legal sense. Consequently, we list those we know once had an active accreditation to acknowledge that they have achieved that milestone.

What this list doesn’t tell you.

  • It is not a complete list, but based on our current market knowledge. People may have started working in the US that we are not aware of, and others may have stopped working. We welcome any news about such changes in status so that we can keep this list up to date.
  • This is a curated list, with no automatic inclusion.
  • It is not required to have a current PHI accreditation to be listed. To see who is current in their accreditation visit https://passivehouse.com/en/training/find-professional/
  • We are not the Passive House “police”, and make no claims about any individual’s suitability for your needs. So use the list, not as a bible, but a reference to discover service options, then do your due diligence to get the right fit for you.

To Listees: If you find yourself on the list but the information is out of date, or you’re not currently pursuing Passive House work, tell us by emailing rachel@passivehousenetwork.org, and we will edit or remove you accordingly.
