designPH 3.0 is here!
The latest version of designPH has been released. designPH is a SketchUp plugin developed by the Passive House Institute. It provides an interactive 3D interface for use by the PHPP, accelerating your ability to design with Passive House through automatic analysis, visual verification, and smart workflows.
Version 3.0 provides a range of new features for faster performance and more reliable feedback throughout the design process. New features include:
- Monthly heating & cooling demand calculations for more detailed performance analysis.
- Improved ground modeling for greater accuracy.
- New overlays that visually highlight different building components.
- Significantly faster shading analysis for a smoother workflow.
The workflow includes a simple 4-step process. First, create a 3D model in Sketchup. Second, set your location and climate from the built-in climate database. Then, refine and verify by checking specifications and adjusting the design. Finally, quickly export to PHPP with just 3 clicks.
This plugin combines rapid energy performance and direct export to PHPP, supporting designers from the earliest project stages to detailed development and helping architects make informed design decisions more efficiently.
