The PHPP received a major upgrade in 2023. Improvements include summer overheating risk assessment, prediction comparison with monitored data, a Room Data tool and Record tool for complex projects, variants, including PV and solar thermal, project overviews, component categories for heat pumps and combination units, and more!  This is Part 1 of a 2-part seminar where Passive House expert Andrew Peel will walk you through the updates, implications, possibilities, and steps to better optimize your next projects!

  • 3 hours of content.
  • AIA and PHI continuing education credits are to be determined.

Description

The PHPP received a major upgrade in 2023 with the release of Version 10. Improvements include summer overheating risk assessment, prediction comparison with monitored data, a Room Data tool and Record tool for complex projects, variants, including PV and solar thermal, project overviews, component categories for heat pumps and combination units, and more!  We’ll walk you through the updates, implications, possibilities, and steps to better optimize your next projects!

This course was developed with Peel Passive House Consulting.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Outline the basic capabilities of the PHPP energy model in building performance optimization.
  2. Describe modeling improvements regarding overheating risk assessment and prediction comparison and how this can effect building design decisions.
  3. Outline how the Passive House energy model can better serve complex projects.
  4. Describe how new components and systems are better integrated into energy modeling and how that can result in better energy use predictions and optimization.

Note: The course does not include the PHPP. It can be purchased separately from 475 High Performance Building Supply.
