5 Ways to Showcase Your Work
Whether you’ve been designing Passive House projects for years or are just getting started, you’re on a journey to bring safe, hygienic, efficient buildings to your community–and we want to tell the world about it. Today, we’re highlighting five ways to showcase your Passive House Knowledge with PHN.
1. Submit a project to the Database
The Passive House Database is an overview of Passive House projects that have been built around the world. A joint project of the Passive House Institute, the International Passive House Association, and Passive House affiliates and practitioners, the Database includes Passive House projects that have already been built or are under construction. All you need to include with your project is a completed PHPP, basic information about assemblies, team, energy targets, and at least one photo. Projects do not have to be certified to be listed.
The Database is a great place to look at Passive House projects from around the world, so if you have a project in progress or completed, don’t hesitate to add it to the collection! Get started here.
2. Provide a Case Study to the PHN Library
The PHN Case Study Library provides at-a-glance details on Passive House projects in the United States, along with short narratives of how the project came together, lessons learned, and other information that gives context to the design. If you have a project listed in the Database, you can list that same project here too. We have a handy form you can use to input all of the information, including photos. We’ll format the Case Study sheet, creating an educational tool that helps advertise your great work.
3. Write a Blog Post
You now have the opportunity to contribute an article to our blog! We’re accepting articles on various Passive House topics, including technical details, in-depth analysis of Passive House drivers, owner or occupant experiences, and more! Do you have tips on getting your clients to make Passive House their goal? Do you have thoughts on how we leverage policy decisions to make way for more Passive House? Our blog is the place to share them. Find more information, ideas, and requirements on this form.
4. Complete an Interview
We just launched a new interview series, Across the Network, to find out what our community members are up to nationwide. Tell your story in your own words alongside photos and videos. We’re especially interested in footage of projects that have been completed or are in progress. Email us at community@passivehousenetwork.org if you’re interested in being our next interviewee!
5. Present at a Conference
Architects, builders, developers, and policymakers are gathering at conferences all around the world, and you can join them! If you’re attending an event on building and design, you can bet that people will be interested in learning about Passive House. Share your research and experience on a panel while spreading the word about Passive House. We regularly feature a list of upcoming conferences of interest in our newsletter, so make sure you’re subscribed!
The Passive House community has always been an incredible resource for knowledge-sharing. We hope these opportunities will enable you to engage with the network, increase awareness of Passive House in your community, and help us take our built environment to the next level!
